✨Do you stress eat?⁣⁣ Food can easily become a coping mechanism, which can cause a challenging relationship with food.⁣⁣Eating as a way of coping with stress or any type of emotion can feel like a short-term immediate relief of the discomfort, but can cause a variety of problems as it becomes a habit.⁣⁣ Practicing ways to cope with feelings outside of food will help you have better self awareness, mind-body connection, and find healthy ways to soothe the discomfort.⁣⁣I use this exercise with clients and it can be helpful to practice coping with feelings outside of food.⁣⁣It has 3 parts:⁣✔️WHAT am I feeling?⁣✔️WHY am I feeling this way?⁣✔️HOW can I cope with these feelings right now? ⁣⁣There’s a lot of stress, fear, anxiety, loneliness, and other feelings of discomfort right now.⁣⁣When you experience these feelings, use this exercise daily, hourly, or even by the minute!🙂⁣⁣This is a learned skill and will take practice, so be patient with yourself as you learn and grow.⁣⁣ Food is amazing, but it can become frustrating when all you want to do is eat your feelings.⁣⁣💛Allow yourself to feel all the feels and also learn many healthy ways to work through it. ⁣
