Debbie’s Tips #216

✨You don’t have to deprive yourself.⁣⁣ You don’t have to cut out food groups completely just because the latest trend says that’s the hot thing to do.⁣⁣It all comes down to understanding how certain foods make YOU feel and perform. ⁣⁣Some foods may make you feel lethargic and bloated, while they make your bestie feel great.⁣⁣It doesn’t mean that food is “bad,” it just means that it doesn’t fuel YOU as well as some other foods do. ⁣⁣✌️Here are two strategies that you can use when learning how to eat mindfully, but also never feel deprived:⁣⁣1️⃣Focusing on How Foods Make You Feel⁣Part of learning to be mindful about food choices and also honor your preferences is learning to FEEL the difference in how foods fuel you.⁣⁣✔️You can make swaps to similar foods that make you feel awesome if certain foods don’t agree with you.⁣⁣2️⃣Focusing On Making a Mindful Food Choice⁣You can also use this strategy if you are craving a certain type of food, but are also wanting something nutritious. ⁣⁣Let’s say, you want a milkshake. Sometimes… Have the milkshake (because: lifestyle)! ⁣⁣Sometimes, you can swap a protein shake instead. It will still taste awesome, but you’ll also hit the goal of getting in some great nutrients.⁣⁣💛You always have permission to eat any food. ⁣⁣Living in that freedom allows you to relax a bit and learn how to feel the difference in how foods make you feel and then make gentle adjustments to be mindful of nutrients.⁣
